Checkerboard earrings, designed by Angela Cummings for Tiffany & Co.

Beautiful vintage squared geometric pair created by Angela Cummings in New York, back in the early 1980's. This earrings was carefully crafted in solid yellow gold of 18 karats, with high polished finish and suited with post for pierced ears (Removable) and omega backs for fastening clips.

Embellished, with inlaid of 12 carved pieces of natural black jade, creating a checkerboard geometric pattern.

They have a combined weight of 17.5 grams and a measures of 20 mm by 20 mm.

They are both stamped at the reverse, with the maker's mark, the gold assay hallmark and signed, "T&CO C 1982 18KT".

Angela Cummings, was born in 1944 in Klagenfurt in Austria. She take her education at the art academy in Perugia, Italy and at the Zeichenakademie in Hanau, West Germany. in the 1967 she joined Tiffany & Co working under the guidance of Donald Claflin and in the 1975, she was the artistic director for her exclusive line brand Cummings. in 1984 she started her own line of jewelry to be retailed exclusively at an in-boutique store at Bergdorf Goodman, in New York city. now she's retired from the jewelry business.
